Types of paper

The BMCJ publishes original papers, review articles, and letters to the editor.

Original article

The text, except tables and figures, is less than 6,000 words; tables and figures are within 8 combined; references are within 50. As seen in the "Article structure" section below, the manuscript should be divided into parts. The abstract should be no more than 250 words long.

Review

The length is less than 12,000 words. Abstract should be less than 250 words.

Letter

The length is less than 2,000 words. Comments to recently published articles in the Journal or author's response to such comment. There is no need for an abstract or keywords.

Article structure

Divide your manuscript into clearly defined and numbered sections. Each heading should appear on its own separate line in bold 14 pt (Times New Roman). The text should be typed in 12-point Times New Roman.

Title

The manuscript's title should be typed in bold 14 pt and centered at the top of the first page. The font must be Times New Roman and the number of characters must not exceed 100. (excluding spaces). Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.

Author names and affiliations

The authors' names should be written under the title in size 12 Times New Roman font. The affiliations should be written under the title 11-point Times New Roman. The e-mail address of the corresponding author should be included in the footnote on the first page.

Abstract

The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the methods, the principal results and major conclusions. The length should be less than 250 words for Original article and Review. Abstract is not required for Letter.

Keywords

Immediately after the abstract, provide 3-6 keywords and use the semicolon to separate words.

Abbreviations

Define abbreviations that are not standard in this field after keywords. Such abbreviations that are unavoidable in the abstract must be defined at their first mention there, as well as in the abbreviation section. Ensure consistency of abbreviations throughout the manuscript.

Introduction

The authors must state the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background.

Material and methods

Provide sufficient detail of used methods and material. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.

Results and discussion

The authors should provide a clear description of the experimental results as well as their interpretation. Authors should discuss the results and compare with previous studies.

Conclusion

The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short conclusion section.

Acknowledgements

Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references.

Reference style

Indicate references by number(s) in square brackets in line with the text, and the full references should be listed in the same order at the end of the manuscript as following style:

Reference to a journal publication:

1. A.B. Author, B.C. Author, C.D. Author, article title, journal title, volume, year, page number.

Reference to a book:

2. A.B. Author, Book Title, Publisher, year, Country.

Figures and tables

Figures and tables should be included in main text of the manuscript.

This journal has no page charges.
