Aims and Scope

Medicinal inorganic chemistry is a relatively young, interdisciplinary research area. In addition to metal-centered therapies, metals may also be used to enhance the efficacy of organic drugs. Bioinorganic and Medicinal Inorganic chemistry Journal is an established international forum for research in all aspects of Bioinorganic and Medicinal Inorganic chemistry and seeks to promote this field internationally. Original papers of a high scientific level are published in the form of Articles (full length papers), letters to Editor, and Focused Reviews. Topics include: the chemistry, structure and function of metal complexes as well as nanomaterials and the interaction of metal complexes, metal ions, nanoparticles, and … with proteins and nucleic acids; the synthesis and properties of coordination complexes with biological activity including both structural and functional model systems; the role of metals in medicine; the application of spectroscopic methods; Theoretical studies, reaction mechanisms and physico-chemical investigations; computational studies  and applications of inorganic compounds, metallodrugs and molecule-based materials. In addition, the journal welcomes papers relating to metalloenzymes and model compounds, biomaterials, biocatalysis and bioelectronics, metals toxicology and metals in the environment.
